Calvert Crabs and Seafood has two locations in the heart of Prince Frederick at 151 Central Square and 3915 Hallowing Point Road. We are seeking dependable full-time cooks and steamers that are looking for an opportunity to learn and grow with our company. We offer carry-out, catering, party platters, and special on-site service with our food truck.

Shifts available at both locations. Experience preferred but will train the right candidate. Safeserv certification and past experience a plus, but not required. Most weekends required – schedules are flexible. Salary based on experience. Prefer full-time candidates; however, part-time candidates are encouraged to apply. Hands-on training under professional chef – expand your creativity with steamed, broiled, blackened, and fried culinary specials.

Accounting Specialist

 We have an immediate opening for an Accounts Specialist. The Accounting Specialist will provide accounting support to major financial accounting areas, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation. They assist with a variety of accounting activities and administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate must possess strong oral and telephone communication skills; excellent people skills; the ability to multi-task; strong organizational skills; knowledge of general accounting procedures, be proficient in data entry; demonstrate a willingness to learn; the ability to work in teams and a multi-faceted environment.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 
  • Verifies and approves invoices for payment 
  • Prepares journal entries and conducts general ledger operations 
  • Completes the reconciling of monthly closings 
  • Conducts account/bank reconciliations 
  • Calculate, post, and verify financial data 
  • Assists with preparation and coordination of the audit process 
  • Assists with implementing and maintaining internal procedures 
  • Completes and/or assists with special projects 
  • Serves as a backup to accounts payable, SDS management and production reporting 
  • Provides purchasing and inventory support as required 
  • Trains team member on various tasks 
  • Provides general administrative support functions 
  • Other duties as assigned

We have an immediate opening for an Accounts Payable Specialist. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the full cycle processing of Accounts Payable. The ideal candidate must be proficient in data entry, possess strong communication skills, be detail oriented and work well in a busy environment.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Assist in documenting and implementing departmental standard operating procedures
  • Reviews and verifies all purchase orders, statements, and invoices
  • Identifies and resolves any discrepancies
  • Enters purchase orders and invoices into the accounting database
  • Obtains approvals on invoices and check requests
  • Codes invoices
  • Update and maintains vendor database
  • Scans documents and maintain electronic files
  • Ability to process and follow up on rush items
  • Performs general office duties such as answering telephones and handling routine office tasks as required

Inventory Purchasing Specialist

We have an immediate opening for an Inventory Purchasing Specialist. The Inventory Purchasing Specialist works closely with Purchasing and Accounting to perform a variety of specialized and technical purchasing and inventory functions. They maintain appropriate supply and inventory levels, minimize stock outs, and keep raw material data accurate. They assist with documenting, maintaining, locating and counting physical inventories. They are responsible for reviewing accounts and inventory reports to identify sources of error and make necessary corrections. They provide innovative ideas on the inventory process and assist with other Accounting and Purchasing tasks as needed.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Assist in documenting and implementing departmental standard operating procedures
  • Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries and inventories
  • Count or estimate quantities of materials, parts, or products received
  • Collect or prepare measurement, weight, or identification labels and attach them to inventory
  • Consolidate purchases to minimize inbound freight costs
  • Compare product labels, tags, or tickets, purchase orders and bills of lading to verify accuracy of shipment contents and quality specifications
  • Working with Production and Purchasing in controlling and coordinating the issuance and receiving of stock/raw materials
  • Coordinate inventory reconciliation and establish improvements for future inventories
  • Checking the inventory list of products and maintaining adequate inventory levels
  • Making note of damaged and lost goods
  • Assist with purchasing supplies and materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned
