Dig It! An Introduction to Farming in Southern Maryland

Monday, February 26, 2018

Are you completely new to farming, thinking about getting your hands in the soil, or wondering what kind of animals to raise? The Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission is hosting a free evening workshop for those who are interested in becoming a farmer and setting up a new farming enterprise in Southern Maryland. This workshop is designed to give participants an inventory of the tools and must-have resources to begin their farming journey from the ground up, knowing what you can do, how to get started, and who to ask for help. Hear from beginning farmers who have recently started their farm operations and get to know your agricultural agencies one on one. Representatives and literature from various agricultural support and funding agencies will be available at the workshop. Confirmed representatives include University of Maryland Extension and Soil Conservation District, more to follow.
